Joe’s Forecast

joeFrosty Mornings Ahead!

The low pressure and trailing cold front that brought the overcast skies and breezy conditions will be moving east of the Tri-Cities today.  On the back side of that system high pressure will gradually move into our neck of the woods this afternoon.  We’ll enjoy clearing skies by the second half of the day with a mix of sun and clouds, along with much colder conditions.  Highs will only top out in the middle 50′s today.  Higher elevations of Western North Carolina will struggle to get out of the 40′s for daytime high temperatures.

A frosty night ahead with the clearing skies as radiational cooling settles into our area. Therefore, we are expecting some valley frost and perhaps a hard freeze depending on your location. Lows will dive into the lower and middle 30′s.  Another frost/freeze expected Thursday night into Friday morning as well.

Thursday right on through early next week will be pleasantly warmer.  Thursday’s weather will kick off a warming trend with highs in the lower and middle 60′s. By Sunday into the middle of next week highs will soar near or into the 70′s. That’s right, rebounding above normal.  The yo-yo pattern of up and down temperatures looks to continue over the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, enjoy the nice foliage and vibrant leaves in our neck of the woods.

Have a safe Wednesday.
